Artist's Comments

We've all been in this building in our minds, with no escape from the madness that consumes us.

Wow. I feel like ive been there, trapped before.

I know that feeling all too well.

Lighting is fantastic along the walls of the building, I'm not, however, too fond of the blaring white of the sky. You put this under photo manip... I think if you wanted to be more effective, you need to show more sky, and something happening in the sky as well. Ominous clouds, maybe?. There just needs to be definition in the sky. Not much, because the building is already detailed quite nicely.

Great location. Where was this? Or, rather, WHAT was this?

industrial wasteland...I love it! The angle makes everything look more unsettling and emotive.

Thanks :D I'm not a big photomanipulator. I only placed it in this category because I used a couple of filters that can't be done in a darkroom. I still try to keep the photo as untouched as possible, which means the sky must stay as it is :( But I agree with you. I would've liked more happening in the sky as well. My original photo didn't have any more sky, only a couple of modern buildings on the side, and I needed them out to preserve the effect. My photohotomanip, Silent Beat, is probably the furthest I'd go in manipulating a photo.

But to answer your question, this was an old run-down building of sorts which had great character to it. It almost felt haunted. It's off Yonge St. in Toronto, Canada. lol. They were filming an episode of Kojak at the time.

Thanks :) It was my first time there, but I normally don't have enough free time to wander the city. Funny, sometimes I feel like a tourist walkin around slowly with a big camera and big lens looking everywhere but forward. It's amazing how a camera can inspire someone to get to know his home all over again. :)

Thanks Vanessa! :D I found the building rather disturbing with the bricked-in windows, and somehow felt connected to it.
I'm a GTA boy. Concord/Thornhill  And thanks for the :+fav:! Much appreciated :giggle:

I always feel like a tourist when I'm walking around somewhere with a camera :P And that's exactly how people look at me too! Toronto is beautiful for photography though.. especially downtown :)
